Courage without Fear

"Courage is knowing what not to fear" - Plato

China's wheelchair bound civil right lawyer Ni Yulan is an example of fearless courage.

Ni is known to fight for those who are evicted from their homes for development. Ni was not disabled in her earlier days, but she became disabled as the result of police beating in 2002 when she filmed the forcible demolition of a client's home.

Out spoken lawyer Ni's relation with the communist government were never sweet. Ni and her husband had been arrested and prosecuted many times. Chinese authorities had involved her in fraud and trouble making cases because she advocated civil rights.

Prison has already become the home of Ni for standing against forced land evictions and torture by the communist rule in China, and she has become a role model for those who stand against torture.

Abled of Law

Disability is a challenge.

Senior Indian Lawyer SK Rungta is a great example of taking his disability as a challenge.

Rungta is the only visually impaired lawyer practicing in prestigious courts of India like Delhi High Court and Supreme Court, and he is the only disabled lawyer who earned the prestigious tag of “Senior Lawyer”.

Advocate Rungta has always advocated for changing the bar towards the ability of the disabled. His hard-work and determination has worked as magic on the Judiciary in different courts of India, and courts accept his plea.

Rights of persons with disability in India have always remained on papers and disabled person always has to go to the court for justice. Disabled, poors and needy clients approach Rungta for better advocacy.
